There is a lot of Hullabaloo about the next ‘big thing’ by Nokia that is being witnessed in the mobile phone market around the world. The buzz is about Nokia N95 that is certainly going to place itself in the Numero Uno position amongst other mobile phones. But it has just been officially announced and not been released as yet. And it is reportedly expected to be launched in the second quarter of 2007.

I am not deliberately trying to add superlatives to describe the Nokia N95. But I am compelled to do so, considering its specifications which have recently been made public by the manufacturers. The device looks good to look at with its 2.6 inch wide screen and slider design. Talking of its features, it is a 3.5 G (HSDPA) capable device that works on Quad-Band GSM that works all around Europe and America. Features like GPRS, EDGE, Infrared, WLAN and Bluetooth are catalytic in enhancing the connectivity of this mobile phone. With the presence of technologies like HSDPA and inbuilt Wi-Fi, this gadget promises the best Internet connectivity, irrespective of where you are!

Nokia N95 is a Smart Phone that runs on Symbian series 60 (3rd edition) operating system. The camera in this device is 5 Mega Pixels that is perhaps the best camera phone that Nokia ever released. The icing on the cake is the Carl Zeiss optic lens of this camera. With auto focus and flash, Nokia N95 can become any photographer’s delight. This camera can also record DVD quality videos at 30 FPS that you can directly view on your television screen by using its TV out feature. Further, there is a secondary VGA resolution camera that is meant for the purpose of video calling in this device. Nokia N95 has an interesting inclusion of the GPS feature that can provide mapping of the various locations. Nokia N95 is installed with Map applications that covers over 100 countries.

The music player in Nokia N95 is impressive as it has the ability to play music in MP3/AAC/AAC+/eAAC+/WMA file formats. As far as the memory of this mobile phone is concerned, it has a 160 MB of internal memory and the user will be provided with 128 MB memory card with its retail pack. And if that isn’t enough, then you can expand its memory with the help of hotswap memory cards. There is also the provision of stereo FM radio in this device. As an ideal business companion, this mobile phone also enables you to read and open your MS office documents on the handset itself.

If you forgot, then this mobile phone also makes phone calls. With a talk time of up to 6 hours 30 minutes and the stand by time up to 220 hours, Nokia N95 looks fairly impressive in terms of battery life. However, I am still waiting for its arrival so that we all can get a fair glimpse of the exact specs of N95. Till then, all we can do is to admire this mobile phone and anticipate its arrival!
